Ellison Statement on Denis McDonough Being Named White House Chief of Staff Print
January 25, 2013

Washington, DC – Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement after Denis McDonough was named to serve as White House Chief of Staff:

“I am proud to have a fellow Minnesotan leading President Obama’s team into the second term. Denis is a life-long public servant who is skilled in leadership and management in the public arena. His experience coordinating the drawdown in Afghanistan and his time spent as a National Security Advisor will serve him well in his new role.

"Denis will be a key player in advancing President Obama's second term agenda. He will handle the everyday affairs of the Oval Office effectively. Denis has always been accessible and I look forward to working with him as White House Chief of Staff.”
